Welcome your newest members... give them a holler, a lick, a humping or two.... or all three
To get things more exciting around here... and seeing how no one else has submitted an icon... time for a fun assignment. Heh... I know... "assignment" makes it sound like something for school... and its summer, so we shouldn't have to. You don't have to, its just for fun, and hopefully it will get your creative juices flowing. (would have called it a "contest" but unfortunately the only prize is to get your name and story mentioned in this journal... but hey, could get ya more hits...

)
Anyways, the first assignment (contest) will be "Imitation". Perhaps following contests/assignments will be voted on by everyone in the community, but I just wanted to get things started.
Okay, a little bit about the assignment. Heard of Weird Al Yankovich? I'm sure most, if not all of you have. (if you haven't, please listen to some of his music) Anyways, he is infamous for his (often humorous) imitation of popular songs. The assignment (if you chose to accept it...heh, sorry just had to do that) is to chose a popular song, or atleast a popular poem... and imitate it. Deadline date forthcoming.
Oh and p.s. not decided on judging yet... either those who do not submit will all take a hand in judging... or we can do a "points system" in which each member will rate each piece on a scale from 1 to 5 (and explaining why they chose what they did) and at the end, we'll see who has the most points for the winner.
COMMENT WHORE TAG GAME
When we comment on someone's work, you sign it with something like "You've been tagged by a comment whore. Now tag ((eg comment)) two others."
Its kinda like that movie "Pass It Forward". Atleast this way, we can get that comment ball rolling hehe

WELCOME TO COMMENT WHORES
Are you a deviant writer who just can't seem to get enough comments... even if you broke 1000, you still wouldn't be happy?
Well... my name's PoeticAngel... and yes, I'm a comment whore.
I had the idea to form a community of other writers who were also comment whores. Perhaps as a support group *wink*
Nah... I figured it would be fun.... and also help us to get our fix of comments.
Also might run a few contests, etc later...
If you are interested in joining, just drop a note, with a nickname or title that you want included!
Heh.... 1st contest..... to make us an icon
Other suggested writing ideas to get your creative minds working (will elaborate on each later, heh when we get more members). Feel free to suggest more ideas:
Imitation, letter form, narrative, POV from non-person, Something disturbing, ode to your job, written in another language, riddles, circular, simple->complex, instrumental inspiration, random dictionary, spoken refrain, metaphor
P.S. joining also means that you will be willing to comment on other member's pieces as well. Just post the link to your works (not your entire gallery tho) as a comment to this account.

And I'd love to be happy; I'd love to find glad, But something inside me Just wants to stay mad. And I need to start smiling -- I forget how that feels -- Driving toward somewhere Instead of spinning my wheels
